Things got messy in the Peruvian Dota scene this week, and it has nothing to do with scrims or tournaments.
Steven “StingeR” Vargas, one of the region’s most familiar names, appeared on the Peruvian talk show Andrea to share that the child he believed to be his might actually be fathered by his former teammate, Crhistian “Pakazs” Savina.
During the program, StingeR explained that he had legally acknowledged the baby and taken on the role of a father. He then revealed that he later learned the biological father could be Pakazs. The confession spread quickly across Peruvian media and social platforms before the English-speaking community picked it up through Reddit and Twitch clips.
Viewers described StingeR as emotional but calm while saying he still wants to remain part of the child’s life. The show framed the story as a betrayal between two teammates, turning a deeply personal issue into a national spectacle that blurred the line between esports and entertainment.
Pakazs has not released an official statement. However, recordings from his stream show him reacting to the broadcast, which only fueled more discussions and memes across the Dota community.
There are no verified DNA results or official confirmations at the moment, but the situation has already become one of the most talked-about stories in South American esports this year.
Whether this quiets down or becomes another chapter in Peru’s ever-lively Dota history, it proves once again that the South American scene is never short on drama, even when no one’s queuing for a match.
