If you’ve been keeping an eye on REMORE: Infested Kingdom, you’ll want to note this update. The upcoming turn-based tactical RPG has officially been renamed Memolith: Forsaken by Light, a change its publishers say better reflects the game’s core themes and world.
The rename was confirmed this week by WEBZEN, which is publishing the game developed by Black Anchor Studio. While the gameplay itself remains unchanged, the new title places more emphasis on the game’s central narrative device: the Memolith, a mysterious structure tied to the city’s collapse and the fate of its survivors.
Set in the ruined city of Remore, Memolith: Forsaken by Light follows a small group of Survivors navigating a medieval city after a catastrophic event turns much of its population into hostile creatures. Combat plays out through tightly designed, turn-based encounters where positioning, ability choices, and risk management are key. Rather than large-scale battles, the focus stays on small squads and high-pressure decision-making.
According to WEBZEN, the decision to rename the game came during development as the team reviewed player feedback and community discussions. The original title leaned more heavily on the setting, while the new name highlights the role of the Memolith itself and the darker, more personal tone of the story.
At the moment, the name change has already been applied across the game’s official social channels, while the update on Steam is expected to follow later due to platform procedures. No release window or major gameplay changes were announced alongside the rename.
Memolith: Forsaken by Light remains in development for PC, with more updates expected as the project moves closer to launch.
