2023 has been a wild year for virtual reality. We’ve seen the release of groundbreaking new titles, the continued rise of indie developers, and even some unexpected surprises from veteran studios.

But with so many great VR games out there, it can be tough to know where to start. So, I’ve put together a list of some of the best Steam VR titles that you absolutely need to check out in 2023.

For the Thrill Seekers

  • Arashi: Castles of Sin – Final Cut. Prepare to become a legendary samurai in this remastered VR epic. Slash and parry your way through hordes of ninjas, master the art of swordplay and conquer treacherous castles in this visually stunning masterpiece.
  • Arizona Sunshine 2. Dust off your cowboy hat and dive back into the post-apocalyptic Wild West, where mutated zombies and other dangers lurk around every corner. Team up with friends, build your defences and survive the onslaught in this intense VR co-op shooter.
  • Resident Evil 4 Remake VR Mode. The iconic survival horror classic gets a terrifyingly immersive twist in VR. Every creak, groan, and moan of the Baker mansion becomes bone-chillingly real as you face off against chainsaw-wielding maniacs and navigate a twisted labyrinth of secrets.

For the Creative Minds

  • LEGO Bricktales VR. Unleash your inner architect and build mind-blowing LEGO creations in VR. Follow a charming story, solve puzzles, and bring your wildest dreams to life brick by brick, all in the magical world of LEGO.
  • Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2. Brace yourself for a whole new level of nightmares. This time, you’re not just watching the animatronic horrors – you’re right in the thick of it. Build your defences, solve mysteries, and survive the terrifying nights in this VR spin on the cult classic.
  • Vertigo 2. Calling all architects with a penchant for vertigo! Design and construct mind-bending structures that defy gravity, all while navigating dizzying heights and solving intricate puzzles. Just don’t look down…too much.

For the Casual Gamers

  • Racket Club. Channel your inner Wimbledon champion in this VR tennis simulator. Master your strokes, compete against friends, and rise to the top of the rankings in this addictive and surprisingly realistic VR sport.
  • Ancient Dungeon VR. Explore a charming voxel-based dungeon filled with secrets and quirky creatures. Wield your magic staff, solve puzzles, and uncover the hidden treasures within this whimsical world.
  • Not For Broadcast VR. Become a maverick news anchor in a world teetering on the brink of chaos. Choose your stories, censor sensitive content, and navigate the hilarious and absurd world of live television in this uniquely immersive VR experience.

This is just a small sampling of the many great VR games that have come out on Steam in 2023. So put on your headset, get ready to explore, and let the virtual world blow you away.
