Wild Rift Ahri: Best Build & Strategy Guide 2022

Ahri is one of the most popular mid lane champions in Wild Rift for good reason. She has mobility, burst damage, and one of the best single-target CC abilities in the game. Her kit rewards players who can land Charm consistently, and once you’re comfortable with her combo, she can pick off priority targets and snowball games almost by herself.

This guide covers everything you need to play Ahri in Patch 7.0f, including her updated abilities, best build, runes, skill order, and how to approach each stage of the game.

Is Ahri Good in Wild Rift Patch 7.0f?

Ahri received quality of life improvements in Patch 7.0c that carried into 7.0f. Fox-Fire’s targeting was optimized to be more consistent after landing Charm, and the Charm itself was adjusted to make the Charm into Flash combo easier to execute. These aren’t damage buffs, but they make her kit feel more reliable and reward aggressive plays.

Her tier standing depends on the source. Expert-based tier lists place her in S tier in the Mid Lane, while win rate data from ranked matches sits closer to average. The honest assessment is that Ahri is strong in the hands of a player who knows her well, but she has a steeper learning curve than her beginner-friendly reputation suggests. If you’re comfortable with her combo and can land Charm reliably, she’s a genuine carry. If you’re still learning, expect some rough games before it clicks.

Wild Rift Ahri Abilities

Ahri’s combo is the core of everything she does. Understanding how each ability feeds into the next is what makes her work.

Ahri Skills: Essence Theft, Orb of Deception, Fox-Fire, Charm, Spirit Rush

Essence Theft (Passive)

Each time Ahri’s abilities hit an enemy, she gains a stack of Essence Theft. At 3 stacks, her next ability that hits an enemy heals her. She also heals from consuming the essence of a champion she helps kill within 3 seconds of damaging them.

This passive is your main source of sustain in lane. You can maintain stacks by hitting minions with Orb of Deception, so use it for wave clear and passive healing at the same time. Never ignore this in lane. Keeping your stacks active keeps you healthy without backing.

Orb of Deception (First Skill)

Ahri fires her orb in a direction, dealing magic damage to enemies it passes through on the way out, then pulls it back dealing true damage on the return path.

The return true damage is the more important hit. When you land Charm and an enemy is walking toward you, position so the orb passes through them on the way back. That’s where most of your damage comes from in a combo.

Fox-Fire (Second Skill)

Ahri briefly gains movement speed and summons three fox-fires around her that home in on nearby enemies, dealing magic damage. Fox-fires prioritize champions hit by Charm, then recently attacked enemies.

After the Patch 7.0c update, Fox-Fire now homes in more tightly after you hit an enemy with Charm or a basic attack. Use this right after landing Charm to make sure all three fires connect on your target.

Charm (Third Skill)

Ahri blows a kiss that deals magic damage and charms the first enemy champion it hits, causing them to walk helplessly toward her for up to 2 seconds. The charmed target also takes increased damage from Ahri’s abilities during the effect.

This is your most important ability. Everything in Ahri’s kit gets better when Charm connects first. Miss it and your combo does significantly less damage. If you’re not confident landing it, hold it as a defensive peel tool rather than wasting it and going in anyway.

Spirit Rush (Ultimate)

Ahri dashes forward and fires essence bolts at up to 3 nearby enemies. She can recast it up to two more times within a window. If she triggers Essence Theft by killing a champion during Spirit Rush, the recast window extends and she gains an additional charge, stacking up to 3.

Spirit Rush is what gives Ahri her outplay potential. Use it to close the gap before a combo, dodge skillshots mid-fight, or escape a bad situation. The key is not burning all three dashes immediately. Use one to engage, save the remaining charges to reposition or escape if something goes wrong.

Ahri Skill Order

Max Orb of Deception (Q) first for the highest damage output on your main poke and waveclear ability. Max Fox-Fire (W) second to increase your burst in trades. Max Charm (E) last since its value is primarily in the CC duration and the damage amplification, which don’t scale dramatically with rank. Put a point in Spirit Rush whenever it’s available.

Wild Rift Ahri Best Build

Ahri Best Item Build Wildrift: Luden’s Echo, Boots of Mana, Infinity Orb, Rabadon’s Deathcap, Malignance, Lich Bane

Item Build

Ahri’s build focuses on ability power, ability haste, and magic penetration to make her combo hit as hard as possible and come up as frequently as possible.

  1. Luden’s Echo: Your first item. It gives ability power, ability haste, and a passive that fires a bolt at enemies when you hit them with abilities, adding poke damage on top of your normal combo. Strong early and helps with waveclear.
  2. Boots of Mana: Gives mana and ability haste. Ahri needs both, and the ability haste keeps Spirit Rush and Charm on shorter cooldowns.
  3. Infinity Orb: Deals increased damage to targets below 35% health and boosts critical strike damage for abilities. Since Ahri’s job is to finish off priority targets, this item rewards clean execution.
  4. Rabadon’s Deathcap: The largest AP amplifier in the game. By the time you build this, your total AP gets a massive percentage boost. This is your main damage spike item.
  5. Malignance: Reduces ultimate cooldown and applies Haunt on enemies hit by your ultimate, increasing the damage they take. Shorter Spirit Rush cooldown means more mobility and more aggressive plays.
  6. Lich Bane: Empowers your next basic attack after using an ability to deal bonus magic damage based on your AP. Works well with Ahri’s combo since you’re naturally weaving auto attacks between abilities.

Situational swaps: Build Crown of the Shattered Queen against heavy burst comps since the spell shield can save you from one-shot situations. Morellonomicon is good against healing-heavy teams. Awakened Soulstealer is an option if you’re snowballing and want Spirit Rush up even more frequently.

Recommended Enchant: Stasis Enchant is the default on Ahri. Going invulnerable for a moment when someone dives you or when you misplay an engage is incredibly valuable on a squishy champion. Protobelt Enchant is an alternative for extra mobility and burst if you’re ahead.

Best Runes for Ahri in Wild Rift

Ahri Runes Build: Electrocute, Sudden Impact, Transcedence, Bone Plating
  • Electrocute (Keystone): Triggers after hitting an enemy with 3 separate attacks or abilities in quick succession, dealing bonus damage. Ahri’s combo naturally triggers this every time she goes in, making it a reliable damage boost on every engage.
  • Sudden Impact (Domination): Grants bonus magic penetration for a short time after using a dash or blink. Spirit Rush triggers this every time you dash, so it’s essentially always active when you’re fighting.
  • Transcendence (Resolve): Grants ability haste that stacks up over the game. More ability haste means shorter cooldowns on Charm and Spirit Rush, both of which are critical to her gameplan.
  • Bone Plating (Inspiration): Reduces the damage from the first burst of hits you take. Helps Ahri survive when she dives in for a combo and the enemy fights back.

Best Summoner Spells for Ahri

Ahri Summoner Spells: Flash, Ignite

Flash is non-negotiable. It extends the range of Charm when used immediately after, lets you escape bad situations Spirit Rush can’t cover, and gives you an emergency out when you’re caught without charges.

Ignite is the standard second spell. It gives Ahri kill pressure in lane and in skirmishes, and it counters healing-heavy champions. Since Ahri’s combo is already designed to burst targets quickly, Ignite seals the deal on kills that would otherwise escape at low health.

Ahri Game Strategy

Early Game

Ahri’s early game is manageable but not dominant. Her cooldowns are long at low levels and she’s mana-hungry before she finishes her first item. The goal is to farm safely, maintain Essence Theft stacks for healing, and look for one clean Charm onto an overextended enemy rather than trading constantly.

Use Orb of Deception through the minion wave to farm and stack Essence Theft at the same time. Don’t spam Fox-Fire on minions unless you need the waveclear. Save it for trades. Once you hit level 5 and unlock Spirit Rush, you have the tools to look for kills. Before that, play it safe.

Mid to Late Game

Ahri’s strength in the mid and late game comes from her ability to pick off isolated targets. Look for Charms on out-of-position enemies, then follow up with the full combo. In teamfights, don’t walk into the front line. Wait for a target to step out of position, lock them down with Charm, and burst them before retreating with Spirit Rush.

Roaming is a big part of Ahri’s value. Once you’ve pushed the mid lane wave, use Spirit Rush to quickly get to a side lane and look for a pick. A well-timed roam that earns your team a kill can swing the game significantly. Always ping your intent so your team is ready to follow up.

Manage your Spirit Rush charges carefully. One to engage, one to adjust mid-fight, one to escape. Using all three immediately leaves you stuck in place if the fight turns against you.

Ahri Counters in Wild Rift

Ahri struggles against champions who can match her mobility or shut her down before she can complete a combo. Assassins like Akali and Zed can dive her before she sets up Charm, and long-range poke mages like Lux and Orianna can harass her out of lane before she gets close enough to trade.

Against high-mobility assassins, build Crown of the Shattered Queen or Stasis Enchant early and play more passively until you have Spirit Rush to work with. Against poke mages, stay behind minions, keep Essence Theft stacks active for healing, and wait for a clean angle to land Charm before going in.

Final Thoughts

Ahri in Patch 7.0f is a high-reward champion for players willing to invest time into her. The quality of life improvements to Fox-Fire and Charm from 7.0c make her combo feel more consistent and her mechanical ceiling more accessible. If you can land Charm reliably and manage Spirit Rush charges well, she’s one of the most impactful mid laners you can pick right now. If you’re still learning her, stick to farming and passive roaming until the combo clicks. Then the rest of her kit falls into place naturally.
