It’s a classic Halloween game, revered for extreme jump scares and creepy, sinister characters. Five Nights at Freddy’s has long been hailed as a quintessential scary game, and now, a new yet very different version of the game has been released. This version, created by GameJolt user ‘Obsidious’, is designed as an ode to the original game, initially released in 2014. The creator stated that he made this branched version of the game because he felt that the original FNAF game was missing a particular element, ‘experiencing the game from the animatronics’ perspectives.’

Hey, we’re not complaining.

Let’s get playing.

“Welcome to Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. A magical place for kids and grown-ups alike, where fantasy and fun come to life. Fazbear Entertainment is not responsible for damage to property or persons. Upon discovering that damage or death has occurred, a missing person report will be filed within 90 days, or as soon property and premises have been thoroughly cleaned and bleached, and the carpets have been replaced.”

Recognise the premise? Well, this time, your character differs ever so slightly. Instead of being a terrified night guard, you’re a member of the eerie animatronic band. You can play Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie the Bunny or Plushtrap, and, as the game is updated, you’ll be able to play as any of the animatronic characters. The creepiness truly has no end! As you’ve probably guessed, your goal is to kill the nightguard. The gameplay here also differs slightly from the usual FNAF setup. It is not created to be identical to the original game, and you are essentially playing on the opposite ‘side’ of the game, as the bad guy instead of the innocent night guard. But it certainly is just as creepy as the original.

If you want to give this game a go and give yourself some spooks, you can download it for free! Get yourself in Freddy’s shoes and see things from the other side.
