If you want a fighter who can bully his lane and keep swinging while everyone else is backing off, this Thamuz ML build guide is for you. His Scythes give you lane control from the start, his passive melts through armor with true damage, and once you pop your ultimate, you turn into a walking inferno that heals through almost anything.

Thamuz is all about pressure. Win trades in the EXP lane, rotate with your jungler for Turtle fights, and push towers before the enemy has time to scale. Play him right and you’re not just holding your lane — you’re setting the tempo for the whole game.

Thamuz Skills (2025 Update)

Passive: Grand Lord Lava

Your Basic Attacks trigger Lava Energy that explodes under enemies, dealing true damage. If Lava doesn’t trigger, each hit reduces its cooldown. Tossing and retrieving your Scythes makes your next Basic Attack always trigger Lava Energy and slow the target. This is what lets you shred both tanks and squishies.

First Skill: Molten Scythes

Throw your Scythes forward. They deal damage, slow enemies, and return to you, dragging targets along the way. Retrieving them refreshes your enhanced Basic Attack. This skill controls the lane and sets up your passive damage.

Second Skill: Chasm Trample

Jump to a target area, damaging and slowing enemies. If your Scythes are out, they snap back instantly and reset the cooldown of Skill 1. Always pair this with Molten Scythes to keep the damage cycle going.

Ultimate: Cauterant Inferno

Thamuz transforms and creates an inferno around him for nine seconds. You gain bonus HP, healing, and huge Attack Speed while dealing continuous AoE damage. In Patch 2.1.18, this ultimate got a buff: faster cast time, full Rage when activated, and bonus HP scaling. With good timing, this skill makes you unkillable in mid-game brawls.

Thamuz Combos

Your goal is to always cycle Scythes with enhanced Basic Attacks:

Standard Trade: Skill 1 → retrieve → Basic Attack → Skill 2 → Basic Attack → Skill 1 → Basic Attack.

All-In Fight: Skill 1 → Skill 2 to reset → retrieve Scythes → pop Ultimate → spam Basics while cycling Skill 1.

Remember: every time you throw and retrieve Scythes, your next Basic Attack guarantees true damage. Never waste that window.

Best Thamuz ML Build (2025)

Thamuz ML Build

Core Build:

  • Warrior Boots – Armor and durability for early lane duels.
  • Corrosion Scythe – Boosts Attack Speed and movement slow, perfect for long trades.
  • Dominance Ice – Reduces enemy sustain and weakens lifesteal heroes.
  • Golden Staff – Turns your Attack Speed into consistent DPS.
  • Radiant Armor – Great against poke-heavy mages.
  • Immortality – Gives you a second life in late-game teamfights.

Situational Swaps:

Situational items are what keep the Thamuz ML build adaptable. Go for Athena’s Shield if you need stronger burst defense, or Blade Armor when the enemy marksman is getting out of hand.

Recommended Emblem Setup & Battle Spell

Fighter Emblem

  • Swift – Extra Attack Speed to trigger more Lava Energy.
  • Festival of Blood – Spell vamp stacks keep you alive in extended trades.
  • Quantum Charge – Bonus sustain and mobility after hitting enemies.

This emblem path pairs well with the Thamuz ML build, giving you the sustain to dive deep and keep fighting without pulling back too early.

Battle Spell: Vengeance

This is the strongest option for Thamuz right now. It adds extra durability, reflects damage, and keeps you alive longer during all-ins. Use it when you commit with your ultimate to soak damage while dishing out your own.

How to Play Thamuz

Early Game – EXP Lane Control

Your job in lane is to bully your opponent with Scythes and passive procs. Always throw your Scythes, retrieve them, and follow with a Basic Attack for guaranteed true damage. If you are laning against a fighter or marksman, buy early armor; against a mage, get early magic resist. With good trades, you’ll zone your opponent off minions and gain EXP and gold advantage.

Mid Game – Rotations and Objectives

As soon as Turtle spawns, rotate. Thamuz excels at zoning enemies out with Skill 1 in bushes and securing space for your jungler. Use your Scythes to scout and punish anyone trying to contest. Once your lane tower is down, move across the map and force fights. Your passive also applies true damage to turrets, so push every chance you get.

Late Game – Teamfights

By late game, your role shifts to frontline disruptor. Pop Cauterant Inferno in the middle of fights to absorb damage and heal through trades. Stick close to enemy carries, keep your Scythes cycling, and force them to either run or die. You are tanky, but not unkillable; if the enemy team has heavy crowd control, position carefully and wait for them to commit before diving in.

Synergies and Counters

Best Partners

  • Junglers with Burst (Ling, Lancelot): When your jungler dives the backline, you want to follow through the front. Your job is to pin enemies down with Scythes and true damage so your assassin has room to finish them off. If you engage without them, you waste your ult and get kited. Always sync your dives with your jungler’s timer.
  • Tanks with Engage (Tigreal, Atlas): These tanks pull enemies into one spot. That’s where you pop Cauterant Inferno and keep everyone burning. If you delay your entry, their initiation goes to waste. Be ready to go in as soon as their ult lands.
  • Supports with Sustain (Rafaela, Estes): Extra healing stacks on top of your natural sustain. With their help, you become impossible to remove from the frontline. This lets you play even more aggressively and stay in fights far longer than enemies expect.

Tough Opponents

  • Kite Marksmen (Lesley, Brody): Long-range ADCs can kite you to death if you waste your jump. If you miss Chasm Trample, you’ll never reach them. Always pair your dive with Flicker or wait for your team to burn their mobility first.
  • CC Tanks (Khufra, Franco): These tanks stop you from sticking to targets. If they catch you mid-ult, you lose all your sustain and your team loses its frontliner. Position smart and wait for them to throw their first skill before diving in.
  • Anti-Heal Heroes (Baxia, Esmeralda): Your kit relies on sustain. Baxia reduces your regen with his passive, and Esmeralda steals your shields and outlasts you. If they’re in the match, you need Dominance Ice early or you’ll never win long trades.

Conclusion

Thamuz shines when you run the right ML build and stick to a strategy that keeps you in control of the game’s pace. Dominate your lane early, rotate with your jungler for Turtle fights, and push towers as soon as you win trades. Midgame is where you shine, so don’t drag matches out too long — finish them while your sustain and damage are at their peak. Play him right, and you’ll be the reason your team snowballs to victory.
