Updated for Patch 2.2.16 (September 22, 2026): Nana recommended ML build and playstyle have been reviewed to reflect the current meta.

The best Nana ML build in 2026 still leans on cooldown reduction and mana regen to keep her skills off cooldown as often as possible.

She transforms the first enemy hero she touches into a small animal, locking them out of attacking or casting, while her boomerang pokes and clears waves from a safe distance. If you want a mage who can shut down a dive before it happens, Nana is still one of the strongest picks you can make.

Nana hasn’t received any major changes in Patch 2.2.16, just a fix for Molina Smooch occasionally dealing abnormal damage. Her skills, cooldowns, and item build all play the same way they did last patch.

In this guide, you’ll find Nana’s best build, emblem, and battle spell, plus a full skill breakdown, gameplay tips for every stage of the match, and the best heroes to pair her with.

How to use Nana Skills

Nana’s skills are built around disruption and control. You are not trying to overwhelm enemies with burst damage. Your strength comes from interrupting movement, breaking enemy rhythm, and buying time for your team to respond.

When used patiently, Nana’s skills make dives feel awkward and force enemies to second-guess every engage.

Nana ML skill list: Molina’s Gift, Magic Boomerang, Molina Smooch, Molina Blitz

Passive Skill: Molina’s Gift

When you take fatal damage, you clear every debuff on yourself and become untargetable and immune to damage for 2 seconds. During that time, you gain 30% Movement Speed and heal back 10% of your max HP. The cooldown is 150 seconds.

💡 Note: Use those 2 seconds to walk toward your team or a turret, since you can’t cast skills while transformed. Once the passive is used, you have no safety net for the next two and a half minutes. That’s when you should play safe instead of pushing for more.

First Skill: Magic Boomerang

Throw Magic Boomerang in a direction and it damages enemies on the way out, then damages them again as it returns. Each additional enemy it hits takes less damage.

💡 Note: You can move sideways while the boomerang returns so you can bend the second pass onto a target who wasn’t in line for the first one. This is your main tool for farming and poking before you get items, so take it first and use it often.

Second Skill: Molina Smooch

Throw Molina to a location and she transforms the first enemy hero she touches. That hero is slowed, loses Magic Defense, and can’t attack or cast skills for the duration. If Molina doesn’t hit anyone, she waits on the ground and chases the next enemy hero who walks into range.

💡 Note: Drop Molina in a bush or chokepoint a few seconds before you expect a dive, so she’s already hunting by the time the enemy shows up. If you throw her after the dive starts, she’ll usually end up chasing someone who has already moved past her.

Ultimate: Molina Blitz

Send Molina to strike the target area three times. Each strike deals damage and slows everyone caught inside. If you land two strikes in a row on the same hero, you stun them.

💡 Note: There’s a short delay before the first strike, so this works best right after Molina Smooch has transformed someone or a teammate’s crowd control has locked them down. Aim it at a chokepoint or near an objective fight where enemies are grouped up. If the enemies are spread out, your three strikes hit three different people and nobody gets stunned.

Skill Leveling Order

Priority: Magic Boomerang > Molina Smooch > Molina Blitz

Take Magic Boomerang first, since it’s your only source of damage before you get items. Put one point into Molina Smooch at level 2, so it’s ready for ganks and defense. Max Magic Boomerang next, then switch to maxing Molina Smooch. Take Molina Blitz at levels 4, 8, and 12 like normal.

How to Play Thamuz in Mobile Legends 2026 – Build, Emblems, and Combos for Endless Sustain

Best Nana ML Build

Nana’s item build focuses on steady magic damage and reliable poke rather than sudden burst. You want your skills to stay relevant throughout the fight, apply pressure consistently, and punish enemies who stay too long in your control zones.

This setup supports her role as a disruptive mage who chips away at enemies while creating openings for the team.

Burst Item Build for Nana in Mobile Legends

Best Nana Mage ML item build: Arcane Boots, Glowing Wand, Lightning Truncheon, Divine Glaive, Holy Crystal, Winter Truncheon
#ItemWhy You Build It
1Arcane BootsGives you +40 Movement Speed and flat Magic Penetration. This lets your Boomerang pokes still hurt before the enemy team buys defense.
2Glowing WandGives you +75 Magic Power, +400 HP, and +5% Movement Speed. Its Scorch passive burns whoever you hit over time, and Lifebane cuts their healing and shield effects for a few seconds after you land damage. Both matter early, since a lot of teams lean on sustain before items even come online.
3Lightning TruncheonGives you +75 Magic Power, +10% Cooldown Reduction, and +400 Mana. Every 6 seconds, your next damaging skill hits extra targets for bonus damage and gives you a burst of speed. This rewards you for staying active in fights.
4Divine GlaiveGives you +60 Magic Power and 40% Magic Penetration. You get even more penetration the more Magic Defense the enemy stacks against you.
5Holy CrystalGives you +165 Magic Power, plus a bonus that grows as you level up. This is the biggest single damage boost in the build, which is why you buy it fifth.
6Wishing LanternGives you +75 Magic Power, +10% Cooldown Reduction, and +400 Mana. For every 800 magic damage you deal to an enemy hero, a Butterfly Goddess hits that hero for 10% of their current HP, so it hits hardest on whoever you’re struggling to actually kill.

Optional Swaps:

  • Swap Wishing Lantern for Blood Wings if one assassin keeps reaching you before your team can help. The shield comes back on its own and gives you a burst of speed when it breaks, so you get the extra step you need to escape.
  • Swap Lightning Truncheon for Enchanted Talisman if mana runs out before your rotations do. Its Mana Spring passive keeps your pool topped up, which matters most in the early game before Lightning Truncheon’s mana stat kicks in.

Best Emblem Build for Nana

Use Mage Emblem. Nana benefits most from an emblem setup that supports consistent damage and strong poke rather than burst-only play. Since her impact comes from repeated skill usage and well-timed crowd control, the goal is to make each spell cast matter without forcing risky positioning.

Nana ML emblem build: Mage talent with Bargain Hunter, Weapon Master, Lethal Ignition
TierTalentWhy It Works for Nana
Tier 1RuptureGives you 5 adaptive penetration that turns into Magic Penetration, since all your items give Magic Power.
Tier 2Weapon MasterIncreases the Magic Power you get from your items. Every item in this build gives Magic Power, so this talent scales with your whole build instead of just one or two pieces.
Tier 3Lethal IgnitionIf you hit an enemy three times within 5 seconds, they take a burst of bonus damage. Boomerang’s two hits plus Blitz’s three hits get you there in one combo.

Best Battle Spell for the Nana ML Build

Sprint

Mobile Legends Sprint icon, recommended battle spell for Nana

Sprint is the safer and more forgiving option. It gives you sustained movement speed, which helps you reposition during fights, kite approaching enemies, and move safely between lanes.

This spell works especially well in longer teamfights where you need to stay within spell range while avoiding dives. It allows you to keep casting and placing Molina without committing too close.

Flameshot

Mobile Legends Flameshot icon, recommended battle spell for Nana

Flameshot offers utility and pressure. You can use it to finish low-health enemies, push divers away from your backline, or disrupt enemy positioning during skirmishes.

This spell fits games where you are confident in your positioning and want an extra tool to control space. It pairs well with Nana’s crowd control by adding another way to punish overextensions.

With your skill combo, you can completely burst down an enemy with this spell.

Skill 2 → Skill 3 → Normal Attack → Skill 1 → Flameshot → Skill 1

🔑 Key note: Sprint gives you safety and flexibility, while Flameshot adds utility and zone control. Choose based on how aggressive the enemy composition feels and how much pressure you expect to face in fights.

Nana Gameplay Tips and Strategy

Nana plays best when you think a step ahead rather than reacting late. You are not trying to win fights through damage alone. Your value comes from controlling space, interrupting engages, and giving your team time to respond.

Understanding how your role changes from early to late game helps Nana feel consistent instead of fragile.

Early Game

In the early game, your focus is lane control and safe pressure. Use Magic Boomerang to clear waves and poke the enemy mid laner while keeping a comfortable distance. You want to stay active in lane without stepping too far forward, since Nana is vulnerable before items come online.

Molina Smooch is your main zoning tool early on. Placing it well discourages aggressive trades and makes enemies think twice about stepping forward. Use it to control space rather than forcing fights.

Avoid overextending or chasing early kills. Your goal is to reach your first items smoothly while keeping the lane stable.

Mid Game

As the map opens up, Nana becomes more influential through rotations and vision control. Look for opportunities to move toward side lanes once your wave is cleared. Molina Smooch gives you reliable crowd control, which makes ganks more effective when coordinated with your jungler.

Use Molina to check bushes and deny flanks during rotations. Placing it in common paths and choke points helps prevent surprise engages and gives your team more information before committing to objectives like Turtle.

At this stage, your presence alone can slow enemy movement and make rotations awkward. Staying aware of the minimap matters as much as landing skills.

Late Game

In the late game, Nana’s role shifts fully into disruption and support damage. Position yourself behind your frontline and focus on controlling space rather than stepping forward for damage.

Target enemies who threaten your backline, such as assassins or aggressive fighters. Well-placed crowd control often matters more than hitting multiple targets at once. Use Molina Blitz in areas enemies want to move through, especially around Lord fights or turret defenses.

Your priority is helping your team secure objectives and survive decisive fights. When you stay safe and patient, Nana makes teamfights feel slower and more manageable for your allies.

🔑 Key note: Nana rewards foresight over reaction. Clear waves first, place Molina with intent, and focus on disrupting enemy movement rather than chasing damage. When you control space well, your team gains the advantage naturally.

Nana ML Build Combo Guide

Combo 1: Solo Pick-off

Molina Smooch, then Molina Blitz, then Magic Boomerang, then basic attacks.

  • Drop Molina Smooch on your target to slow and transform them.
  • Follow up right away with Molina Blitz for the stun.
  • Finish with Magic Boomerang and basic attacks while they’re locked down.

⚠️ Most common mistake: You throw Molina Smooch after the enemy has already moved instead of placing her ahead of where they’re headed. A Molina that’s already waiting hits almost every time. One thrown mid-chase usually misses.

Combo 2: Teamfight

Molina Smooch on the priority target, then Molina Blitz through the group, then basic attacks.

  • Tag the enemy hero who’s diving your backline with Molina Smooch, not whoever is closest.
  • Follow with Molina Blitz once your tank has the group locked down or bunched up.
  • Attack freely while the transformed enemy can’t respond, then finish with Boomerang.

⚠️ Most common mistake: You use your ultimate on a spread-out fight. The stun needs two hits on the same hero. If the enemy team runs in four different directions, your three strikes hit three different people and nobody gets stunned.

Tips for Beginners

  • Don’t worry about the exact combo order in your first few games. Land Molina Smooch, then use whatever skill is off cooldown.
  • Watch your passive’s cooldown, not just your ultimate’s. Once Molina’s Gift is used, you have no safety net for the next two and a half minutes.
  • Place Molina Smooch in bushes near objectives before your team fights for them. A Molina that’s already waiting is worth more than one thrown after the fight starts.

Tips for Experienced Players

  • Ping the transformed target right away. Molina Smooch lowers Magic Defense for your whole team, not just you, and most teammates won’t notice on their own.
  • Stand at mid-range instead of max range. From max range, you drop Molina on a spot the enemy has already left. From mid-range, you can place her just ahead of where they’re actually going.
  • Use Molina’s Gift to escape, not to push back into the fight. It’s on a long cooldown, so using it in a fight that doesn’t go your way leaves you with no escape for the next two fights.

Nana Counters and Matchups

Heroes That Counter Nana

HeroWhy They Counter You
FannyHer cable movement outruns Molina Smooch’s chase, so she’s usually gone before Molina arrives.
HayabusaHe moves fast and is hard to track through Shadow Kill, so placing Molina ahead of him is mostly a guess.
LancelotHe’s untargetable during his second skill and invincible during his ultimate, so a chasing Molina connects with nothing.

Heroes Nana Is Strong Against

HeroWhy You Win
LesleyShe has no dash, so she can’t escape Molina Smooch’s chase once it starts.
OdetteHer ultimate needs an uninterrupted setup window, and a well-timed Molina Smooch takes that window away.

Best Teammates for Nana

HeroWhy It Works
AtlasHe groups the enemy team together, which sets up Molina Blitz’s stun perfectly.
TigrealHe locks enemies in place with his ultimate, so Molina Blitz’s hits land clean instead of scattering.

Draft Tips

  • Pick Nana when the enemy draft has at least two heroes with no dash or blink, like Lesley, Bruno, or Clint. They can’t escape Molina Smooch’s chase.
  • Make sure your own draft has a frontline. Nana has no dash and low base Movement Speed, so a team with four damage dealers and no tank leaves her using Flicker on the first engage and her passive on the second, with nothing left after that.
  • Avoid picking her against three or more of Lancelot, Hayabusa, Atlas, and Fanny. Past that point, the matchup gets a lot harder to win.

Final Thoughts

Nana didn’t change this patch, so if you already play her, nothing here should feel new. What’s worth updating is your Nana ML build. Glowing Wand and Wishing Lantern do more for her right now than older builds that skip items for cutting enemy healing. Her main idea hasn’t changed either. Place Molina where the fight is going, not where it already happened, and the fight usually goes your way after that.

Nana ML Build FAQs

What is the best Nana ML build?

The best Nana ML build in 2026 still leans on cooldown reduction and mana regen to keep her skills off cooldown as often as possible.

Did Nana change in Patch 2.2.16?

No, just a bug fix on Molina Smooch’s damage. Her stats and skills stayed the same.

What lane does Nana play?

Mid lane. She has no dash and relies on range and pre-placed Molina, so she fits a lane where she can poke from a distance instead of trading up close.

Is Nana still good if I’m behind on items?

Yes, more than most mages. The transform from Molina Smooch and the stun from Molina Blitz don’t need items to work. Even a Nana who’s behind can take a priority target out of a fight while her team deals the damage.

Why do Nana players struggle in late game fights?

Usually it comes down to positioning. Standing too close hands assassins the exact target Molina Smooch is supposed to deny them. Stay behind your frontline and place Molina ahead of the fight instead of reacting to it.
