My Dream Setup is a soothing escape into the art of desk aesthetics

There’s something oddly satisfying about scrolling through perfectly curated desk setups online—clean lines, RGB lights glowing softly, a cup of coffee placed just right. My Dream Setup taps into that feeling and turns it into a game, one where the goal isn’t to win, but to vibe.

It’s less of a game and more of a sandbox—think of it as digital interior decorating, but specifically for your dream PC workspace. You’re given a blank room and everything you could possibly need: desks, chairs, monitors, speakers, plants, posters, curtains, and even the view outside your window. And then you just… build. Move things around. Recolor the walls. Resize a shelf until it feels right.

What’s clever is how the game turns simple decorating into an oddly immersive loop. Every object is fully customizable—you’re not just placing a desk; you’re choosing the finish, adjusting its size, changing the color, and rotating it until it’s perfectly aligned with the vibe you’re chasing. Monitors? Add one, or three. Hook up speakers, hang posters, scatter plants around. Want a laptop next to a desktop? Done. Add clutter or keep it clean. You’re in control of everything, down to the RGB glow.

There’s no score, no timer, no looming objective other than making something that looks good to you. But the tools are there if you want to get technical—grid snapping helps with precision placement, while free mode lets you break the rules entirely. You can even play with the time of day or switch on ambient lighting, just to see how your setup looks under sunset or midnight blues.

Maybe you’re in the mood to create a cozy writer’s nook with warm tones and fairy lights. Maybe it’s a neon-lit streaming cave with triple monitors and a mechanical keyboard that clacks just right. The game doesn’t care—as long as you’re having fun tweaking every little detail.

And honestly, that’s where My Dream Setup shines. It’s a game for the ones who screenshot IKEA planners, scroll through Reddit’s r/battlestations, or spend hours rearranging their Sims’ houses. A quiet, digital reminder that sometimes, organizing your space—even a virtual one—is the perfect way to unwind. And there’s no better feeling than when it finally clicks, when that last potted plant finds its perfect spot and the whole room just… feels right.

My Dream Setup is available on Steam.
