Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has officially released Patch 2.1.18 on September 17, 2025, and it’s one of the biggest updates of the year. This patch introduces a brand-new hero, a full Alice rework, adjustments to Angela, Bane, Thamuz, and Floryn, plus major battlefield and roaming equipment changes. Ranked Season 38 also begins, alongside new system features, bug fixes, and even a brand-new 1v1 mode.
Here’s everything you need to know.
New Hero: Obsidia – Sovereign of Dark’s End

Obsidia is the newest Abyss Marksman to join MLBB. Her kit revolves around Bone Shards, collected by hitting enemies and minions, which empower her attacks.
- Passive – Return to Bone: Attacking enemies grants Bone Shards for bonus damage.
- Skill 1 – Abyssal Bone Needle: Fires a bone projectile that triggers her passive.
- Skill 2 – Phantom Shadowmeld: Gains a burst of 500% movement speed in Shadowmeld Form.
- Ultimate – Hunt of Bone: Pulls herself to an enemy, locking both together. Obsidia ignores obstacles during this state and enhances her Skill 2 for extended duration.
How We See It: Obsidia looks like a high-risk, high-reward Marksman. Her ultimate’s tether mechanic could redefine Abyss skirmishes, forcing duel-heavy plays instead of standard kiting.
Revamped Hero: Alice – Queen of Blood Returns
Alice has received a full rework to modernize her skillset while keeping her late-game dominance intact.
- Passive – Crimson Banquet: Builds stacks to trigger a continuous AoE that damages enemies and restores HP.
- Skill 1 – Crimson Gleam / Scarlet Shadow: Fires blood energy, then allows teleportation to its location.
- Skill 2 – Doom Waltz: Damages and slows; enhanced during Crimson Banquet for lifesteal.
- Ultimate – Throne of Ruin: Surrounds herself with blood, reducing damage taken before slamming down to immobilize enemies.
How We See It: With her lifesteal scaling and AoE lockdown, Alice is positioned to return as a teamfight powerhouse in mid-to-late stages of the game. Expect her ban/pick rate to climb quickly.

Hero Adjustments: Buffs, Nerfs, and Quality-of-Life
- Angela (↑) – Significantly reduced her ultimate cooldown and optimized targeting, letting players use it more often. Shield values are lower for balance.
- Floryn (↓) – Easier Flower of Hope sharing and better ally health tracking, but reduced CC duration and weaker shields.
- Bane (↑) – Stronger early-game damage and faster shark ultimates, making him less gold-dependent.
- Thamuz (↑) – Rage mechanic adjustments and faster skill animations, plus a more explosive ultimate with bonus max HP.
- Silvanna, Chip, Kimmy, and Cici also received tweaks.
How We See It: Angela’s buff means supports can have a bigger influence in clutch fights, while Bane’s stronger laning phase might bring him back into regular play. Floryn mains, however, will feel her nerfs.
Annual Map Change – Fresh Battlefield Mechanics

The Annual Map Change adds randomized effects to each match, keeping the battlefield unpredictable:
- Broken Walls – Easier movement across terrain.
- Dangerous Grass – More bushes for ambushes.
- Flying Clouds – Clouds near base let heroes return to lanes faster.
- Expanding Rivers – Stronger river currents tied to objectives like the Lord.
How We See It: These mechanics are designed to keep matches dynamic. The Flying Clouds alone will completely alter how teams rotate and defend base pushes.
Roaming Equipment Rework
Roamers finally get more economic impact with a rework to Roaming Blessing:
- Gold and EXP can now be gained independently without draining allies.
- Vision-based rewards added for revealing hidden enemies.
- Dire Hit, Conceal, Favor, and Encourage have been adjusted for clarity and balance.
- Non-roamers are restricted from buying Roaming Boots.
How We See It: Roam players should feel less punished for their role now, especially in Ranked. Expect supports and tanks to have more influence in team economy.
Ranked Season 38 and New Systems

- Ranked Season 38 begins, featuring Valentina’s Grand Gala seasonal skin.
- Highlight System – Big plays now trigger ally notifications (Perfect Shot, Superb Tanking, etc.).
- Season Achievements – Collect Style Points, earn Style Plates, and unlock a seasonal painted skin.
- Revamped Achievement System – Includes global leaderboards and customizable achievement showcases.
Other System Updates
- MLBB Rising Open begins a new season with adjusted timing and rewards.
- Quick Communication upgrades add more intuitive signals for team play.
- Share Features now support TikTok integration, expanded match stats, and customizable result displays.
Bug Fixes
Key issues resolved include:
- Fanny’s Skill 2 not being interrupted by Suppress effects.
- Nana’s Molina Smooch not breaking Camouflage.
- Thamuz, Valentina, Dyrroth, and several others receiving fixes to visuals, animations, and effects.
New Game Mode: 1v1 Battles
Arriving on October 9, 2025, the new 1v1 mode pits players head-to-head in fast-paced duels. Victory comes by eliminating your opponent three times or destroying their turret. Both sides can ban and draft heroes before the fight.
How We See It: This is a long-requested feature for 1v1 enthusiasts and could open up new community tournaments and content opportunities.
